"I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who have been honoured by this prize".

This is what the US President said at the Washington Press Conference after getting the award for the Nobel Prize for Peace. It was also reported that he will donate the accompanied 1.4$ Million  to charity.

Mixed Reactions

Obama cleared in the press conference that he do not view the award as recognition of his accomplishments but rather as affirmation of his leadership on behalf of his people. Archbishop Desmond Tutu however said that the award is "a magnificent endorsement for the first African-American president in history", Many however believed that the award is given prematurely considering the President is just one year in the office. Most of his initiatives for peace can only be realized later.

Taliban Issue


Taliban condemn the award stating that President Barack Obama hasn't made any move to initiate peace in the Afghan region. However, Afghan President Hamid Karzai called the award "appropriate".

You were probably wondering who is this Mark Teixeira? Well Mark Teixeira is the first baseman for the New York Yankees' baseball team. He was all over the news and twitter world recently for his homerun at the 11th inning that to help with the victory of the New York Yankees team with 4-3 score over the Twins.

Prior to Newyork Yankees, Teixeira has been with Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Angels team. In 2005, Teixeira became the third switch-hitter in MLB history to hit at least 20 home runs in each of his first three seasons. His 2005 total of 144 RBI is a Major League record for a switch hitter. Teixeira signed a contract worth $180 million over 8 years with the New York Yankees. His contract is the 3rd biggest in the history of Major League Baseball.

Online twitters across the nations reported the apparent death of Dr. Maya Angelou. She was reported to have been rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles last Saturday evening prior to her engagement to attend the Braveheart awards.

For those who do not know her, she was a famous poet and Pulitzer nominated author. Her best known work is her published autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, that tells the story of her first seventeen years of life. It brought her international recognition, and was nominated for a National Book Award.
